AFTERNOON PROGRAM

We do things together (3:00 – 4:00 pm)

Our afternoon program is dedicated to a practical study on Acts 2. Basically we will try to answer Question #1 found in the final section of our current Sabbath School lesson (see the study for Friday).

What elements and experiences of Pentecost can the church expect to be manifested in its life today?

What is repetable, and what is not?

Bible Study Class

As some of the youth in the church asked the pastor for Bible studies, we’ve developed a website where an online Bible Study Class will have all the resources needed. One can study at his/her own pace, while specific additional meetings and presentations will take place as needed.

We’ve got so far 11 people (from the three churches in Dublin) who already registered. If you are interested to a Bible Study Class or know others that might be, please register for the Essentials series or share this link to them. www.biblestudyclass.org

For the next 10 years, he served with his wife Pauline and two children in the North England Conference, pastoring 3 different districts. He was ordained to gospel ministry in 2006. Having always had a heart for church planting and outreach, God then moved their ministry focus to cross-cultural frontline mission work as Euro-Asia Field Directors, providing pastoral and strategic support for career missionaries serving with Adventist Frontier Missions.

Lord’s Supper for the Homeless

It is again that time of the year to share our Christian compassion and care. No, it’s not Christmas, nor Easter, neither a Special Day with a humanitarian aid emphasis promoted by a Worldwide organization. It is just our Lord’s Supper, toward the end of the quarter.

As in our previous ocassions, we are inviting all to use such an important day for us to reach out to those who do not enjoy the life as we do. Read more here: Lord’s Supper for the Homeless.

Loneliness has become an epidemic, a silent assassin wreaking havoc on the physical and mental health regardless of age, belief, race, or gender. Immigrants and people above 50+ are not to be the hardest hit by this silent killer. It is twice as deadly as obesity and more dangerous than smoking 15 cigarettes a day. It is a sneaky, capricious beast that can overwhelm you at anytime.

Are you lonely? Or would you like to help someone suffering from loneliness? Then make a date this Sabbath afternoon to learn how Christ dealt with His loneliness in a simple practical way.

1,000 Steps to Christ

When was the last time (if ever) you gave a missionary book to someone in Ireland? There are thousands people not knowing God around us…

On the WhatsApp discussion of the Prayer Meeting Group, there came this idea of doing missionary work through spreading Adventist literature. An impressive amount of 1,000 copies of the amazing book “Steps to Christ” awaits for our involvement. All those interested to become part of the team, please stay longer this afternoon for a talk and a plan.

Remember, for those who are far from God, their journey to Christ start with YOUR first step to them.

Afternoon program

When and Where do we move?

Elim04

As the deadline for our move gets closer, we want to discuss our options and get to a decision. We do have several options, as described here http://dublinwestsda.ie/2018/04/20/we-are-moving-to/ (thank you for the 90 visits of this post!).

The latest news is that Elim Church has informed us of their warm welcome for our church. (Yes, we can go there.) So, our afternoon program will be one of rememberance of the grace of God during our stay in Coolmine and a decision as to when and where do we move.

Events in the Irish Mission for the summer

Irish Mission Day of Fellowship

The Irish Mission Day of Fellowship for 2018 will take place on 2 June this year. The guest speaker for the event is Dr. Alan Parker from Southern Adventist University. Dr. Alan Parker is a dynamic speaker and a specialist in church growth and outreach. The event will take place at the Betania Romanian Church, Damastown Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin. A more detailed programme for the day will be published shortly.

Vacation Bible School

When? – 2nd – 6th July. Where? Ranelagh Adventist Church. Who is invited? Children 4-12 years of age. Preschoolers accompanied by parents will have their own group. Theme? Babylon – Daniel’s Courage in Captivity. Join Daniel—torn from his home and forced into the king’s service. Explore exotic sights and smells in a Babylonian bazaar! Kids and adults will find that they’re not much different from Daniel and his friends, who kept their faith in a faithless culture. For details contact VBS director, Petar Popivanov 083 414 2880.

Alternative afternoon program –

Screening the movie “Is Genesis History?” in other churches

Card1

Thank you for supporting the evangelistic initiative of screening the movie-documentary IS GENESIS HISTORY? We had more than 10 visitors, some coming as they received a printed invitation (for example a religion teacher), others as they’ve been reached by our Facebok ad (some ladies from the community around the church), while some others as they are new friends to the church.

Here is some of the feedback we got from our visitors:

  • “Thank you for organising the documentary screening. It was very informative.” (C.)
  • “I found the film very interesting and I’ll certainly check out YouTube for the other resources of Is Genesis History”. (A.)

This Sabbath afternoon the movie is projected again in other churches in Dublin. If you and your friends want to come around, you are welcome at 4PM in the Romanian Church, in Tallaght (English), while at 7PM the same program is being run in Ranelagh Church.

Info/News for the church

Where and when do we move?

Thank you all for praying and giving feedback on our efforts to find a new venue for worship. Last week we gave a short report of where we are now (you can read it here: http://dublinwestsda.ie/2018/04/20/we-are-moving-to/). The post was accessed 62 times by now, so we presume that every family in the church knows about our next steps.

On Wednesday this coming week the pastor will have a meeting with the pastors of the churches mentioned as “the first option” and hopefully we will get a positive answer from one of them.

The time has come for us to watch with our youth, friends and the whole church the movie-documentary IS GENESIS HISTORY? It is a special media product introducing us to many proofs regarding the historicity of the first book of the Bible, Genesis. This Sabbath in the afternoon at 4pm we will screen the movie.
